Conversations with The Husband...

A Disclaimer: In no way am I making fun of the actual act of kidnapping or murder, just random thoughts that cross my mind and I wanted to share… lucky ya'll! ;)

A Little background before you even read the conversation below: Growing up my grandma lived right next door to us and when my mom was working nights, my brother and I would go over to her house for dinner sometimes. My grandma was born in the 1920's and the majority of her TV watching is mainly reruns which I am pretty sure I saw with her when I was little and she was watching me like Murder She Wrote, countless western movies and Wheel of Fortune. Anyway in my teenage years none of these shows appealed to me however, she loved watching Law & Order and the SVU series. So I got addicted to the SVU series, the investigation side in me loved it however, growing up in a small town these scenarios really ruined me for any future events of living in a large city. Keep that in mind- Law & Order: SVU and scenarios they present..

So we live in the suburbs of Austin, which does help my crazy connotations from being scared for life from watching dramatic and haunting TV shows.  Last year in effort to start getting into better shape and lose weight, I started walking and eventually jogging around in our community. I don’t however jog too far down the street for the fear of being attacked. Now I will say we live in a perfectly safe neighborhood and I know my thoughts are probably all just that silly ideas in my head.

While driving yesterday I had this conversation with the husband:

Me: See, how it starts to get kinda creepy looking over here?

Walter: Um, not really?

Me: Okay well it’s not that creepy more like what if I am jogging and not paying attention and that guy like right there (pointing down low so the innocent looking guy can’t really see me pointing at him), jumps me and kidnaps me or rather adult naps me. Wait, is it kidnapping even if you’re an adult?

Walter: First of all, I think they call it kidnapping but I could be wrong. And secondly, I highly doubt someone would jump you in broad daylight in the neighborhood.

Me: Are you trying to say I am not kidnapable?

Walter: Seriously?

Me: Well, it sounds like your saying no one would want to kidnap me.

Walter: Are we really having this conversation right now? If they did kidnap you, I am sure they would bring you back- trust me.

Me: Very funny. That’s just mean. What if they kidnap me and then murder me and throw me out in their dumpster?

Walter: Where do you come up with this crap?

Me: Haven’t you ever seen Law & Order: SVU? They don’t just make up random stories and crazy scenarios. I am pretty sure they are taken from contexts of actual crimes.

Walter: A TV Show, really?

Me: Yes.

Walter: I don’t think you will get kidnapped and put into someone’s house and murdered. Can we talk about something else?

Me: I guess..

I still don’t think I will be jogging very far away from our home anyway, and just enjoy watching Law & Order: SVU reruns
